Our story
Built by hand, run by three partners.
PAX Construction was founded by three partners who share a simple idea: build homes and remodel the ones people already love, with the level of care you'd want in your own house. We're partner-led, family-run, and proudly rooted in Hampton Roads.
Every project is guided by the same three questions we ask each other: Is it right for the homeowner? Is it built to last? Would we be proud to hand it over? If the answer isn't yes to all three, we don't stop until it is.
What sets us apart.
Clear communication
You'll always know what's happening on your project — no chasing us for updates.
Clean job sites
We treat your home like ours. Broomed floors, tarped furniture, tidy trucks.
On-time delivery
Realistic schedules, honored. When something changes, we tell you before it becomes a problem.
Transparent pricing
Line-item estimates in plain English. No surprises after the contract is signed.
Meet the co-founders.
Three partners, one standard. The people behind every project.
Seth Douklias
Co-Founder
Seth co-founded PAX Construction to bring a straightforward, craftsmanship-first approach to remodeling and home building in the Richmond area. From the first walkthrough to the final punch list, he's hands-on at every stage — walking clients through detailed estimates, keeping projects on schedule, and making sure homeowners always know exactly where things stand. His philosophy is simple: clear communication, honest pricing, and work he'd be proud to have in his own home.
Andrew Marscheider
Co-Founder
Andrew's focus is on the build itself — the planning, the crews, and the hundred details that separate a good project from a great one. As a co-founder of PAX Construction, he holds every job to the same standard: clean job sites, tight timelines, and craftsmanship that stands up to a close look. For Andrew, the best compliment a client can give is calling back for the next project.
Landon Clayt
Co-Founder
Landon co-founded PAX Construction with the belief that a construction project should feel exciting, not stressful. He works closely with clients from concept through completion — helping shape ideas into workable plans, coordinating the moving pieces behind the scenes, and keeping every project moving forward without surprises. His goal on every job is a finished space that fits the way people actually live.
